House removals in Mansfield
Whole households across NG18, NG19 and the Ashfield towns — terraces, suburban semis, new-build and the Sherwood-edge villages. Surveyed first, quoted in writing.
House moves are the bulk of what we do, and Mansfield housing varies more than the postcode suggests. A long ex-mining terrace and a new-build off the A617 are the same job in name only.
What is included
- Free survey — at the property or by video — before anything is priced
- Protective wrapping for upholstery, mattresses and polished surfaces
- Floor runners and door-frame protection at both ends
- Dismantle and rebuild of beds, wardrobes and tables
- Room-labelled unloading so boxes land where they belong
- Packing materials taken away when we leave
Packing, at your depth
Full pack, part pack, or fragile-only. The common split is that you take the books, the clothes and the garage and we take the kitchen, the glass and anything framed. The quote names the rooms we are packing so nobody arrives expecting the other.
Parking, which is the local variable
The terraces through the town and across Ashfield have no driveways and fill with parked cars by mid-morning. We start early and keep the vehicle moving rather than blocking a street for three hours. Where a bay genuinely needs suspending the council usually wants the application from the occupier, and we will tell you if yours is one of those.
Out at Forest Town, Berry Hill and the newer estates the parking is easy and the carry from the road can be the longer part. In the Sherwood-edge villages the lane sometimes decides the vehicle.
The storage question
Worth raising at survey rather than in a panic. Chains slip, downsizing leaves a surplus, and new-build handovers move. Because we run our own storage, a load that cannot go in today goes into a container tonight instead of sitting on a vehicle — and it is quoted alongside the move rather than as an emergency add-on.
Leaving the area
Junctions 28 and 29 are both close, so a long move out of Mansfield starts on a motorway rather than after an hour of A-roads. Those are planned as proper long-distance work. If the destination is abroad, see European removals.
How the price is worked out
Volume, access at both ends, packing depth, and distance. Smaller loads may suit man and van; the full list is on services.

House move questions
What is in a house removal quote?
The vehicle and crew, blankets and covers, floor and door-frame protection, and taking apart and rebuilding what will not pass a door in one piece. Packing is priced separately because households want very different amounts of it.
Do I need a survey?
On anything above a one-bed, yes — and it is free. In a town with this much terraced housing it settles the parking question before the morning rather than during it, and it tells us whether storage is likely to be part of the job.
Will one vehicle do it?
A three-bed at Forest Town with a driveway, usually. The same contents out of a terrace with no parking may need a different plan. The survey answers it rather than the afternoon answering it for us.
What if the chain slips?
The load goes into our own store overnight rather than sitting on a vehicle or a pavement. Doing both under one roof is the practical reason that is straightforward here rather than an emergency.
Is the loft coming?
Worth deciding before you ask us. Lofts and garages hold more than anyone remembers and they are slow to empty — tell us and the number is the real one.
