About

A north-Notts firm, doing both jobs

We move households and we store them, and around here that combination is the point rather than a bolt-on. Chains slip, downsizing leaves a surplus, and plenty of people need somewhere to put things before they need a van.

What we do

Household removals across NG18, NG19 and the Ashfield towns — whole houses, flat moves and man-and-van work at the smaller end. Packing to whatever depth you want. Containerised storage for households and businesses. And moves that carry on into France, Spain, Italy and Portugal.

We also take small commercial work: offices in the town, units on the industrial estates, shops and salons, usually out of hours so the business loses the least trading time.

Why storage is not a footnote

Most removals firms list storage near the bottom of a services page. We put it on the front one, because a large share of the enquiries we take start with somewhere to put things rather than somewhere to take them.

That is partly the housing. Terraced streets have no garage to absorb a surplus, downsizing out of a family semi leaves more furniture than the new place takes, and a chain that slips at the wrong moment leaves a load with nowhere to go. Doing both under one roof means the answer to all three is the same phone call.

It also means a load is handled once rather than moved into a unit and then moved again — which is the practical difference between storage that is part of a move and storage that is an afterthought.

Why a small patch

Because the local knowledge is the service. Knowing that the terraces fill with parked cars by mid-morning, that the Ashfield rows have a staircase that turns at the bottom, that half the Sherwood-edge lanes will not pass a full-size vehicle without a look first — none of that is available to a firm covering the whole East Midlands.

It also means small jobs are worth doing properly. A firm driving in from Nottingham has to charge for the driving. We do not.

How we work

We look first. On anything above a single room, somebody looks at the place — at the door or on a video call — before a number is written down. It costs nothing and it is the only way to get volume and access right.

Quotes in writing. Measured volume, crew, vehicle, packing depth, storage if it is part of the job, and what cover applies. If you are comparing us with someone else, those are the things to compare rather than the headline number.

One point of contact. The person who takes your details is the person who knows the job when you ring three weeks later.

Protection as standard. Blankets, covers, door-frame and floor protection — and goods wrapped before they go into a container rather than after they have been scuffed.

What we do not do

We do not quote before we understand the job. We do not promise a transit time we cannot stand behind. We do not take on a property without establishing that we can physically reach it. And we do not claim awards, accreditations, press coverage or customer numbers we have not got — if it is not on this site, it is because it is not true yet.

Cover

Goods in transit and storage cover are in place, with the usual conditions around owner-packed cartons and items of unusual value. Declare anything genuinely valuable at survey and we will confirm in writing what applies. The contractual position is on the terms page.

Getting hold of us

The quote form is quickest. Contact has the rest, questions covers what comes up first, and areas we cover shows exactly where our ground runs out.

Tell us about the move

Both addresses, roughly what is going, and your dates if you have them. We will arrange a survey and come back with a written quote.
